Obsessions

What dictates our fascination with material things,

Who determines our selfish interests,

When do we understand what finality brings,

Why do we mourn when our gains diminish

We are our own detriments,

We do things we dare not mention,

We will one day wish we had not spent,

Everything on our meaningless obsessions
